Though our membership of 'Liftgruppen' (Lift Association), in the Equipment Section of the Danish Construction Association, we are committed to using specific procedures for servicing and maintaining our lifts.

Better safety.

For the purpose of providing maximum safety for working with personnel lifts, we are required by law to  overhaul our lifts completely at least once a year at the suppliers or other experts workshop.

To optimise the quality of these overhauls, the Danish Technological Institute and the "Liftgruppen", of the Danish Construction Association, have launched a scheme whereby the Danish Technological Institute certifies and performs ongoing monitoring of workshops registered under the scheme. "Lift Kontrol" helps to ensure better safety when working at heights.

Safety for everyone

Lifting-equipment owners can do their part to improve safety on personnel lifts by always letting a workshop certified by the Danish Technological Institutes Lift Control Unit perform the annual lift overhaul.

Lessees and users of personal lifts can also help to increase safety by ensuring that a lift bears the "Liftkontrol: sikkerhed i højden" (Lift Control: Safety Aloft) label.

Spot checks

The Danish Technological Institute is charged with ensuring that the certified workshops comply with the "Lift Control" requirements.

This monitoring is carried out by means of spot checks performed by the Danish Technological Institute. Spot checks are performed on at least 5% of all lift overhauls at certified workshops. This provides statistical certainty that the level of quality of personnel lifts with the Lift Control label complies with the rules in force relating to high safety standards.

Registration of inspected lifts

Personnel lifts that have undergone Lift Control are registrered in two ways:

Information about who performed the last inspection and when it was performed is specified on the lift itself, together with details of when the next overhaul is due.

In addition, all certified lifts are recorded in a confidential database at the Danish Technological Institute, enabling the institute to quickly find out at all times whether a given lift has undergone Lift Control.
